Sophia Ainslie awarded 2012 Artist Fellow in Painting by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Ainslie is one out of the eight painting fellows, selected from 531 applicants. The awards come with a $7500 stipend for each artist.  The awards are anonymously judged, based solely on the artistic quality and creative ability of the work submitted. This year’s Painting panelists were Margaret Burgess, Masako Kamiya, Al Miner, and Susan Stoops.
